LEGO® Space
LEGO Space is one of the original LEGO® play themes and was launched in 1978, at the same time as the well-known “System within the System”. The first sets were clearly inspired by real space exploration from the 1960s and 1970s, featuring spaceships, moon bases, rockets, and rovers. The line became recognizable through its gray and blue color scheme, transparent yellow windows, and, of course, the cheerful astronaut minifigures with the iconic Space logo.
Over the years, LEGO Space grew into a world with its own “factions” and stories. LEGO includes, for example, Blacktron and Futuron (from 1987 onward), and later Space Police, with vehicles often built in a modular way so that you could swap and combine parts. This makes LEGO Space sets fun to collect and ideal for building your own varied space scenes.
