  • Valhalla for LEGO fans big and small

    I had a truly fantastic Lego experience in Oss today. What a great store and fantastic staff! My son felt like he was in a candy store. Buying used Lego works great. I think they'll need a lot more bricks in the future, because this store might be bursting at the seams soon ;).

LEGO® Town

With LEGO® City, you build a world that keeps growing. Think streets full of vehicles, recognizable buildings, and minifigures to recreate scenes or create your own. LEGO® City is designed specifically for combining sets, so you can constantly add new stories and places to your city.

What many builders call "LEGO® Town" also has a rich history. The city line began as (LEGOLAND) Town around the introduction of the minifigure in 1978. It was briefly called World City (2003–2004), and officially became LEGO City in 2005. That's why you'll find both LEGO® Town classics and newer City sets in this collection.

LEGO® City often revolves around recognizable themes like emergency services (police/fire department), transportation and infrastructure (like trains and stations), and everyday city details that complete your city. This way, you're not building just one set, but a complete environment.

What exactly is LEGO® City?

LEGO® City refers to city/town-style sets that let you create urban life: buildings, vehicles, and minifigures for all sorts of stories. LEGO® City is designed to be mixed and matched, allowing you to create a city that grows and becomes more diverse.

Is LEGO® town the same as LEGO® city?

Basically, yes: LEGO® Town is the older name for the city line. That name was later replaced by World City and, from 2005, by LEGO City. That's why Town sets and City sets often fall under the same "LEGO® City" experience.

What should I pay attention to when I want to buy LEGO® city?

First, choose whether you'd like the classic Town atmosphere or the more modern City style. Then, decide what your city needs (e.g., vehicles, buildings, or a train set) and build it out step by step. The best thing about LEGO® City is that you can combine everything into one larger whole.
