LEGO® Baseplate: the baseplate beneath every build
A LEGO® baseplate is thinner than a regular plate and has no studs on the underside. This means it lies flat on the table and forms the foundation for a house, a street or an entire city. This collection includes individual baseplates, usually from older sets or from our stock of used LEGO®.
The most sought-after size is the LEGO® baseplate 32x32, a baseplate measuring just over 25 centimeters wide. You’ll also find the large 48x48 (part number 4186), the rectangular 16x32 (3857) and smaller sizes such as 8x16 and 16x22.
Road plates and Raised baseplates
A large part of the selection consists of Baseplate Road: 32x32 plates with a printed road, intersection, curve or T-junction. They come from City and Town sets from the 1980s to today and all fit together, so you can combine old and new road plates.
Rarer is the LEGO® Baseplate Raised: a plate with raised relief, for example a hill with a garage or a rocky outcrop from Castle and Space sets. These plates are popular with collectors who want to complete a set from their childhood.
Combining baseplates with plates and sets
Looking for Dutch terms such as bouwplaat or grondplaat? The same plates are also in the collection LEGO® Building Plates. Thicker plates with studs on the underside, such as 16x16 or 8x8, can be found under Plate.
You’ll most often use baseplates beneath LEGO® City and classic LEGO® Town sets, but also beneath LEGO® Space and LEGO® Castle models. When buying used plates, check the description: any light scratches or discoloration are always noted.
