The LEGO NINJAGO Movie

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie line was created around the film and was primarily available as a theme during 2017–2018. Compared with the “regular” NINJAGO waves, this collection has a distinctive film look: more city details, more humor and characters, and many sets that focus on life in the city alongside the action.

A large part of its appeal lies in the big city sets. NINJAGO City (70620) is the iconic centerpiece: an enormous, layered city full of shops, street life, and hidden details, designed as both a large display model and a playset. Later, NINJAGO City Docks (70657) was added as an extension, making the city even bigger and richer with additional levels and a harbor atmosphere.

This line is also especially appealing to collectors because of its focus on figures. In addition to the minifigures included in the sets, there is also a separate collectible series: 71019 The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Series, with a total of 20 minifigures from the film’s world. This lets you fill your city with unique residents and striking “movie” variants.

What are LEGO NINJAGO Movie sets?

LEGO NINJAGO Movie sets are building sets based on the film universe, with a distinctive “movie” style and lots of city details. The theme ran mainly from 2017–2018 and includes both action sets and large city builds such as NINJAGO City.

Which LEGO NINJAGO Movie minifigures are available?

You can find minifigures in the sets themselves, but there is also a separate collectible series: 71019 The LEGO NINJAGO Movie Series. The series consists of 20 minifigures and is popular for making your NINJAGO City feel extra “lived-in.”

Is the LEGO NINJAGO Movie mainly for playing with or displaying?

Both. Smaller sets are designed for action and role-play, while the large city sets also work very well as display models because of their level of detail and layered design.
